ATTLEBORO, MA – Jacob J.Ventura (R-Attleboro), candidate for state senate in the Bristol and Norfolk district is announcing a new campaign coalition, Women for Jacob. The coalition is being led by honorary chair, Representative Elizabeth A. Poirier (R-North Attleboro). Women from across the nine municipalities in the senate district are encouraged to join the leadership team, regardless of party affiliation.
“Encouraging more women to be active in the political process is essential for progress to be made with regards to policy decisions affecting our communities, ” said Ventura. “As I go door-to-door and meet thousands of voters, I am reminded that women want solutions to issues like getting a great education, building a career, raising a family, living in safe neighborhoods, and ensuring equality in our public and private institutions.”
The coalition will kickoff with their first event on Monday, September 17th at the Colonel Blackinton Inn in Attleboro at 6 P.M. Women and men from across the district are welcome to attend this social event.
“I’m honored to join Jacob’s campaign and speak to the importance of issues affecting women across the district,” said Rep. Poirier. “Jacob will be a strong ally to Governor Baker and myself on advancing women’s issues on Beacon Hill.”
The Bristol and Norfolk district includes precinct 3B and wards 4,5, and 6 in the city of Attleboro, the towns of Seekonk, Rehoboth, Norton, and Mansfield in Bristol County, and the towns of Foxborough, Medfield, precincts 1, 4, and 5 in Sharon, and Walpole in Norfolk County.
